Redeeming Lord,

 

are we back with the psalms again?

 

Is this the childhood prayer

you learned and said each night -as you quietly bow your head, and close your eyes, and trust everything to the Father, as if you were going to sleep?

 

Loving Lord,

this above all we have learned from you:

 

that God is Abba,

our Father, and we can trust him;

 

and that for us, as for you, everything begins and ends with Abba, for everything is in his hands

-and we can trust him.

 

You came to this hill determined more than confident, but now all is accomplished.

 

You have finished your work and now commit it all to Abba, put everything in his hands and trust it to him.

 

For, as you taught us, all things finally are in his hands

-life, and death, and beyond death, all things.

 

Abba, help us to trust you more and dare to trust all things to you.
