Where: Day 2 Reflections
John 10:7-10
7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Reflect.
Jesus says that he guides his sheep to “find pasture.” What feeds you as a follower of Christ? What spiritual practices and church activities energize you and help you to grow?
Response
What thieves such as worry, fear, insecurity about yourself or your job, or troubled relationships keep you from living the abundant life God wants for you? What might Jesus say to you about the things that hold you back?
Response
Jesus said that he came to give us life abundant. What would a person living life abundantly look like? How would such a person spend time and money?
Response
Is this the way you spend your time and money? What thieves of abundant life exist in your community? What problems such as poverty, racism, classism, lack of education or jobs, or pollution limit life for you and your neighbors? What do you think God wants for you and for your community?
Rest.
Sit in God’s presence and ask God to show you What limits you in experiencing the fullness of life. Ask God to help you let go of anything that limits you and Others.
Pray a breath prayer.
For a breath prayer until your next time of reflection, consider praying, “God of life, help me live fully.”
